Indicator overview
Every part of CyclesX you can see: what it shows, how to read it, and which settings control it.
The Simple panel
A short briefing in plain words, on the price chart by default. Each row can be hidden. On desktop, hover a row for a fuller explanation.

Header
- What it shows
- The symbol, timeframe and the time zone used for every date, with its offset from UTC today.
- How to read it
- Check the time zone before reading any date in the panel.
- Settings
- Panel, tables and dates › Time zone for dates.
🔁 Dominant Cycle
- What it shows
- The strongest cycle on the chart: its length in bars and in market time, and its verdict.
- How to read it
- Green "Strong cycle" or "Confirmed cycle": stands out clearly and repeats reliably. Orange "Developing cycle": close to passing, or a longer cycle still building history. Grey "Low confidence": not yet clear, so lean on the other readings. "Steady 0.72" or "unsteady 0.31": how closely its recent repetitions kept today’s rhythm (0.5 or more is steady). Steady cycles are the better ones to project. If a stronger, longer cycle is too long to confirm on this chart, the row names the higher timeframe to check.
- Settings
- Cycle filters (all).
🌊 Composite Cycle Line
- What it shows
- The cycles added together to draw the cycle wave, strongest first, each with its length and its own verdict colour.
- How to read it
- More green means a more dependable wave. Grey entries are lower-confidence cycles.
- Settings
- Cycle wave › Cycles in composite, Minimum spacing.
📍 Position in Cycle
- What it shows
- Whether the cycle wave is rising or falling, how far it has travelled from its last turn to its next one, and when the next turn is due.
- How to read it
- "▲ Rising · 21% of the way from trough to peak · peak due around Tue 3 Nov": early in a rise. "Trough just passed" or "Peak just passed" appears right after a turn. A ● at the start means the next turn is near. Grey italics mean the dominant cycle is graded Low confidence.
- Settings
- Cycle wave, Preset › Bars to project.
🔄 Turn Zone Score
- What it shows
- How closely the cycles line up at a turn, from -10 (all near their highs) to +10 (all near their lows), and how many are near a turn.
- How to read it
- 5 or more either way is a turn zone: a reason to watch for price to confirm, not a reason to act on its own.
- Settings
- Cycle wave › Cycles in composite.
📈 Cycle RSI
- What it shows
- The Cycle RSI value, its direction, and the cycle it is tuned to.
- How to read it
- Green "turning up from the lower band": stretched low and recovering. Red "turning down from the upper band": the opposite. Orange: still beyond a band.
- Settings
- Pane and Cycle RSI.
🧭 Bigger trend
- What it shows
- Price against the two agreement cycles’ FLDs (the two cycles you are not trading).
- How to read it
- Up: above both. Down: below both. Mixed: between them. With the Hurst layer off, the direction of the smooth trend.
- Settings
- Hurst layer › Cycles, Trade cycle.
🚦 Signal
- What it shows
- The FLD trade signal.
- How to read it
- LONG or SHORT with its grade and exit time, or Wait with the reason it is waiting.
- Settings
- Trade signal (all).
🎯 FLD Target
- What it shows
- The price and time target from the trade cycle’s latest FLD crossing.
- How to read it
- Pending: not reached yet. Hit ✓: reached, early, on time or late. Late: due time passed. Missed: not reached within one cycle. The % is the distance from the current price.
- Settings
- Hurst layer › FLD targets.
📝 Summary
- What it shows
- A few sentences tying the rows together.
- How to read it
- Read it first for a quick take, then the rows for detail. It says whether the FLD target and the next cycle turn agree.
- Settings
- Panel, tables and dates › Rows to show.
On the price chart
What CyclesX draws over the candles.

Cycle wave on price (optional)
- What it shows
- Off by default. When turned on, the composite cycle is laid over the smooth trend on the price chart: solid for the past, dashed for the projection.
- How to read it
- The dashed part is the current rhythm carried forward, not a forecast.
- Settings
- General › Cycle wave on price chart, Show its projection.
FLD lines
- What it shows
- Hurst’s Future Line of Demarcation for each cycle, in its colour: green (shortest), orange (middle), purple (longest). By default only the trade cycle’s FLD is drawn; set FLD lines to All three to see the other two. Drawn over the same recent span as the troughs.
- How to read it
- Price above a cycle’s FLD suggests that cycle has turned up; below, turned down.
- Settings
- Hurst layer › Trade cycle, FLD lines, Recent cycles shown.
Crossings
- What it shows
- Small marks where a bar closes across an FLD.
- How to read it
- Only closes count, not wicks. A crossing creates a new FLD target.
- Settings
- Hurst layer › Crossings.
◆ Past troughs
- What it shows
- The lows of all three cycles, stacked under each low: green (shortest), orange (middle), purple (longest). The latest one of each carries the cycle’s name. Only the last few cycles are shown, over one shared span.
- How to read it
- More diamonds in a stack means a bigger low. Lows less than about half a cycle apart count as one low, so dips while price wiggles around the FLD do not create new troughs.
- Settings
- Hurst layer › Past troughs, Recent cycles shown.
◇ Possible troughs
- What it shows
- A hollow diamond at the lowest low since price closed below a cycle’s FLD.
- How to read it
- Not confirmed yet. It turns into a ◆ once price closes back above that cycle’s FLD. Wait for the ◆ before trailing a stop under it.
- Settings
- Hurst layer › Past troughs.
Next FLD
- What it shows
- A short dashed line labelled next FLD at the nearest longer cycle’s FLD, in the direction of the trade cycle’s latest crossing.
- How to read it
- Price often pauses there. A natural place for partial profit, or to add once a bar closes beyond it.
- Settings
- Hurst layer › Next FLD and target clusters.
◎ Target cluster
- What it shows
- A dotted line where two or more cycles’ open FLD targets sit within about one ATR of each other.
- How to read it
- A stronger target zone than a single target.
- Settings
- Hurst layer › Next FLD and target clusters.
FLD target
- What it shows
- A circle at the projected price and time with a label, a dotted line from the trough to the crossing and a dashed line from the crossing to the target.
- How to read it
- When price reaches the target, a green ✓ marks where, and the label says early, on time or late.
- Settings
- Hurst layer › FLD targets.
● Expected troughs
- What it shows
- Markers below recent candles showing when each cycle’s next low is due, with whiskers for the likely range.
- How to read it
- Where several cycles’ markers sit close together, a bigger low is more likely.
- Settings
- Hurst layer › Expected troughs, Expected trough range.
Trade levels
- What it shows
- Only when a signal qualifies: a LONG or SHORT label with its grade, a red stop line, an "FLD target (ref)" label and a shaded window for the trade.
- How to read it
- A target without trade levels means the crossing did not qualify as a signal.
- Settings
- Trade signal.
The pane
The indicator’s own pane below the price chart. By default it shows the cycle wave.
[Screenshot: the pane in Cycle wave mode and in Cycle RSI mode]
Cycle RSI
- What it shows
- An RSI tuned to the dominant cycle, with two adaptive bands and a label at the right edge.
- How to read it
- Turns from the bands are the moments of interest. A timing aid only.
- Settings
- Pane and Cycle RSI.
Cycle wave (default)
- What it shows
- The composite cycle in cyan on its own scale, without the trend, with its dashed projection.
- How to read it
- Shows the rhythm clearly, without the trend hiding it. To lay it over the candles on its own scale, move the pane onto the chart (see Using CyclesX).
- Settings
- Pane and Cycle RSI › Pane shows.
Full tables
Untick Simple view for the detail behind each reading.
[Screenshot: the three full tables]
Cycle scan table
- What it shows
- The verdict in the title row; then the dominant cycle with its consistency, strength and stability; its phase and next top and low; the composite; the trend projection; the bigger cycle and whether the two agree; and the preset in use.
- How to read it
- Green title: a confirmed cycle. Amber: a stronger longer cycle is building; check a higher timeframe. Grey: no strong cycle right now.
- Settings
- Panel, tables and dates › Show explanations column.
Hurst table
- What it shows
- Each of the three cycles: its name, its length, its latest crossing, target and expected trough, and how the lengths were set.
- How to read it
- Faded entries marked "(2x est.)" are estimated, not measured.
- Settings
- Hurst layer › Hurst table position.
Trade details
- What it shows
- Entry, stop, exit, % to stop, grade, suggested risk and the rule’s track record on the chart.
- How to read it
- The track record uses today’s cycle lengths for the whole history, so it is a guide, not a strict test.
- Settings
- Trade signal › Show trade table, Trade table position.

Also stability, position in cycle (%), bars to the next turn (+ for a low, - for a high), FLD target distance (%) and status, bigger trend, and a Feature score from 0 to 100.
- How to read it
- Add CyclesX in the Pine Screener to filter a watchlist. Sort by Feature score to see the markets with the most going on: a confirmed, steady cycle, a turn due soon, the bigger trend agreeing and a live signal. Screener mode shows on the chart exactly what the screener sees.
- Settings
- Trade signal › Screener mode.
